Teal Me In 2021 – Part 2, Taking My Own Advice

My most popular post of 2021, so far, has been Teal Me In. Although a bright yellow and grey were chosen by Pantone as the color of the year, I much prefer Benjamin Moore’s choice of Argean Teal 2135-40. The color has a beautiful lend of blue and green with a touch of grey that allows it to blend seamlessly with many other colors.

After pulling together the list of teal accessories in my previous post, I realized that after many years of purple being my favorite color (not very popular for interior design), maybe it was time for a new start – teal. My house is mostly neutral white, black, and grey but with the start of the new year, it is time to wake it up a bit with some color energy.

The living room got the biggest teal infusion with pillows, a coffee table tray, a picture frame and a vase. This has really added some dimension while still maintaining the soft, neutral energy of the room.

The guest bedroom (and Mike’s temporary office) also got an infusion of teal. Before, it was the left behind room with a bed and a white duvet. So plain that some of his co-workers had asked him if he was working from a hotel.

After the addition of a teal pillow (no longer available), artwork, a blanket, and his gaming statues the room has a much different energy. You will not find a better buy in a more comfortable blanket than the one below. Thinking about getting it for the family room but it is queen bed sized which will be more of a folding challenge than the small single person, faux fur one that we currently use. I swapped out a gaming statue for the light here but trust me, the statue is just as large which is why usually it is the only thing on this nightstand.

I also created a dining room look for less with teal wallpaper. It had an overall neutral beachy theme with the wallpaper providing the right amount of balance to keep the room from being boring. I really love how the light is featured so well against the teal background. Sometimes it takes adding a color for the neutrals to shine. Check out the post HERE if you want to see how I was able to recreate this look for less.

Next up for me is either the teal plates or the bird wallpaper. Pretty sure which my son and husband would choose and also pretty sure I am going to surprise them with the other one.

If you are feeling the teal vibe, check out my previous post for some more teal accessories HERE and see some new ones that I have added below based on my purchases and a few more recent finds. Hope your 2021 is feeling more upbeat and colorful than 2020!
