Paint It (Your House Exterior) Black

Source: AD Magazine

I am desperately seeking someone who wants to paint their house exterior black. Yes, black, you read that right. You might be surprised to see that black looks great on many styles of homes – modern, craftsman, farmhouse, mid-century, and even traditional. Black home exteriors one of my favorite trends to emerge over the past couple years.

One of our neighbors recently painted their house a yellow color and installed a red tile roof which is killing me because it took it right back to its 80s origin. Look at the similar architecture house below and maybe we can agree that they missed an opportunity to update it and make it fantastic!

A black exterior can really make a statement in an almost quiet way if that makes sense. It is an authoritative, bold and in a natural surrounding, it fades to the background highlighting the different shades of green.

If you are not really to commit to full black, do not worry, it goes great with white and natural wood. Also, like white, there are so many shades of black so grab your samples and throw up a few before making any commitments. There are also some great right greys and even dark greens that can also have a similar impact. Here are some of my favorite blacks for exteriors.

Still not convinced, maybe one of these will change your mind. Lots of different styles, sizes and settings but they all look fantastic!
