Luck of the Irish Decor

With Valentines in the rearview mirror, it is time for installment two of how to decorate for a holiday without veering into tacky territory. This is my first St. Patrick’s Day décor and I am committed to having a few touches that add some fun while still keeping it tasteful.

You might have seen my Valentines post HERE. The plan is to try to achieve the same balance for St. Patrick’s Day. What this means is that I spent a fair amount of time sifting through décor such as the below to bring you a few things that strike the right balance. JUST IN CASE YOU ARE SKIMMING, THESE ARE TACKY!

There are a few things that are on repeat from Christmas or Valentines with a new St. Patrick’s color scheme. The dish towels, ornaments for the bowl and felt balls are starting to feel like my go to for light holiday decorating. If you need a bowl, you can find some great ones HERE. This dish towels are special because they remind me of my Mom who would send me some for every holiday, but, somehow even she had not sent any for St. Patrick’s.

You also may know that I like a good JOANN’s bargain which is where I got the lucky sign and fake gold coins, but you do have to sift through lots to find the gems. It is a bit like a treasure hunt, and fortunately, that is something I enjoy!

As with valentines, I am trying to keep things on a fairly tight budget and most items fairly small because storage space is at a premium around here. The small charm bracelet on the top of my vase above definitely fits the bill for small and inexpensive and adds a great subtle touch – note that you may need a couple or more to fit around your vase. Similarly, a $3 ribbon upgrade really improved the Amazon 4-leaf clover wreath.

The glass vase from Cost Plus Market is a mainstay in my kitchen with seasonal branches and easily accessorized with a wooden bead garland which is a great way to add holiday color and also support Etsy sellers which I love. I might have a couple St. Patrick gnomes still on order shown in the line-up below, which are on the border of the tacky zone, but they caught me in a weak moment.

I am already on the hunt for some great Easter décor (ok I have bought some) and I share these posts early so you have time to order and still have time to enjoy some of the décor in your own home! Until next time, check out the St. Patrick’s Day Décor below!
