We have been dealing with a leak repair and delayed shipment from Grandin Road for a few weeks which has delayed my Halloween decorating but it is finally done and just in time for October. I previously shared many of my Halloween favorite décor pieces HERE.
My Halloween décor has evolved from the creepy, scary décor that I had previously when the kids were teens. I do miss the giant spider web that we use to do each year HERE and am still thinking about adding one to the stairway – it is such an inexpensive way to make a big impact with next to no storage requirements which makes it the holy grail for holiday decorating.
So…here goes the tour of my elevated neutral, spooky décor. The picture below is the living room and the piece de resistance are the bats that just arrived today! They are felt bats from Grandin Road and one of my main new additions this year. Similar to the spider web, they make a huge impact with little storage and the cost was pretty reasonable for something that is higher quality than paper and I will be able to use each year.

One of my favorite places to decorate for holidays is the entry. This year I added the amazing pumpkins from Target – probably my best value purchase this year. Links to these pumpkins as well as lots of other goods ones HERE. I also added a few black stems to the fall foliage in the vase just to add a bit more dimension.

The front door has another great value – this wreath is from JOANNs and it was under $30! I like to hang my holiday wreaths on the inside of the door so that we get to enjoy them and it helps to protect them from the weather for many years of use. I shared this wreath as well as some other great fall options available at JOANNs HERE.

The area around my sink has lots of counter space and allows me to group up some of my favorite accessories. The pumpkin serves as a candle holder and I love to burn my pumpkin pie candle from Pure Integrity Candles in the evenings. I highly recommend you check them out because they are reasonably priced, the scents are amazing and powerful! The apothecary jar is something I recreated from one I saw in a Pottery Barn catalog years ago for waaaaay too much – this probably cost about $50 total including the jar, again thanks to Michaels or JOANNs.

The dining room was the area most impacted by the floor so it is great to have it back together. Here I have a few vignettes which include the matte pumpkins that I doubled down on this year – the colors are amazing – and some very affordable candles from Amazon that even have timers so they come on for 6 hours like magic each night.

Finally, the family room features things from previous years and my favorite is the large lantern with the candle that comes on like magic at night. The lantern was a Marshalls find from years ago – you can usually pick up some great one-off holiday deals there! I also really like the cloche that I filled with more of the muted pumpkins – as with Christmas where I am currently staying away from traditional red, white and green, there is very little orange in my Halloween décor. Using the more muted colors provides a fresh look that is more in line with my modern design style.

There you have it for Halloween In the House – I will swap out a few things with pumpkins and Thanksgiving will be good to go as well. Just so you know, Christmas décor has been coming out at the retailers and I have already started putting together some of my favorites but will hold back on sharing at least for a few weeks. Have a fantastic weekend!
