Half Wreath Hoopla

When I created my wreath round-up I wanted to buy the one below but unfortunately, it was sold out by the time I decided to commit. Since then, I have seen hoop wreaths popping up on blogs and thought that I would try to create my own since I had many of the supplies and the cost is probably only in the ~$25 range compared to most others than were $50 and up. I was a bit leary at the start as I have a mixed track record with DIY but success of the yarn wrap trees, I was pretty sure I could manage this one.

Supplies:

Instructions:

  1. Snip all but around 2-3 inches of stem from the evergreen sprays – don’t get discouraged as this is the hardest part depending on how thick the wire is and how sharp your wire cutters are
  2. Shape the sprays on the wreath with the shortened stems crossing at the bottom.
  3. Tie the stems onto the hoop using string, twine, or zip tie
  4. Shape the spray with the curvature of the hoop and tie the end to the side of the hoop
  5. Place the small decorative sprays end to end at the bottom on top of the evergreen sprays and hot glue into place
  6. Add the ribbon using a slip knot for a more modern look or you could add a bow for a more traditional look.
  7. Hang with 3M Hook
  8. voila you are done – enjoy!

Here are some additional examples for inspiration.

I broke the cardinal rule of no glitter in the house as it was on the floral sprays but they were such a great deal so step 8 for me actually involved cleaning up glitter. Ugh, but so worth it. What about you, have you done any easy, no fail DIY projects this holiday?
