Fabulous Fall Home Decor

Source: Target

I love everything about fall from pumpkin spice lattes, crisp fresh air, and the colorful leaves on the trees. Now that we have moved to CA, we only really have the lattes, but I still get excited to bring some fall colors into my home.

As with my Valentine’s post HERE and St. Patrick’s Day post HERE, you need to shop with some care to avoid the tacky. If you are wondering what I mean, see below — in case you are skimming, THESE ARE THE TACKY EXAMPLES. Shockingly the witch is over $90 Macy’s – I like quirky, but this is just taking it a step too far and the scarecrow is just too cutesy for me.

I spent way too much time searching to find some gems so hope that you find something(s) below that you like – just click on the picture to be redirected to teh site.  Be sure to buy now because the good stuff sells out and also because of shipping time – I generally put some fall stuff out in Sept (mostly faux florals), add Halloween at the beginning of Oct then add a few more fall items in November when I put Halloween decor away.

Here are my favorite fall florals this year – I ordered the Japanese Maple and The Golden Yellow Leaf Branches from Crate and Barrel as well as the Magnolia wreath from JoANNs but am having a bit of buyers remorse as I really love the hoop wreath at Target that I found afterward – last year I made a Christmas hoop wreath HERE and you could give that a try with fall stems.

Candles are also a great way to get that fall feeling in your house even if it is still 75F outside. I wrote a post about how I like my candles non-toxic like my friends HERE about my favorite candle company Pure Integrity Soy Candles and I highly recommend you order them as you will be shocked what a difference a good candle makes. You will sell these throughout your house and I always order extra to have on hand as they make fantastic gifts. My favorite fall scents for fall (which honestly I would burn year round) are Cranberry, Autum Splendor, and of course, Pumpkin spice.

There are some beautiful fall pillows that add a subtle accent. My only caution here is that you are going to have to figure out how to store them unless you decide to leave them out year-round so I use discretion or look for pillowcases that you can just put over other pillows. I am really, really tempted by all of the pillows below and think the berry pillow may make an appearance in my house and all of them together are just sooo pretty — oops just hit the buy button, don’t tell my husband.

Pumpkins are a given but there are like 99 bad ones to every good one out there. The glass pumpkin below is one of the favorites that I have had for a few years. I add twinkle lights on a timer inside which never fair to delight me when they turn on every night. I added the black metal pumpkin below to my collection this year and plan to put my above-mentioned candles in it on the kitchen counter next to the faux florals.

So, whether you are lucky enough to have fall colors outside your front door or you are still enjoying warm sunny days, I hope you found something here to bring inside your home for fall. I have been looking for Halloween-specific decor and will do a separate post (it has been surprisingly few and far between so far) but until then you may want to see if any of the items I featured last year HERE are still available.
