Although the days are getting quite warm here in sunny Newport Beach, the evenings can be chilly with the sea breeze. I also love the weight of a blanket when taking my fairly often nap with Odin the dog on the couch after Pilates. My current go-to is a faux fur throw which is great because it is just the right size for one, has a nice weight to it, and washes up really well.

Some throws are meant for show (i.e. on the back of a sofa) and others are meant for go (i.e. napping). This does not mean your napping throw needs to be ugly, just that there are different things I look for. Specifically, no thin cotton that feels rough and papery, no loose weave that will pull and look bad after a few uses, and nothing too expensive or precious that you are worried about washing frequently.
Another great tip is to look for a more neutral blanket that can easily move from room to room. I especially like solids in beige, cream, and gray, or maybe a throw with a simple stripe. Of course, the patterned blanket above is great for a nursery!

I tried to keep the selection below more in the Target price range but there is a bit of a budget buster from West Elm and one from CB2 which of course are my favorite if you are willing to splurge a bit. Can you tell which ones these are? All of them have great reviews and I highly recommend the fuzzy sherpa style if comfort is your top priority! Most of the solid blankets come in various colors so click away if you are looking for a different shade.
