I shared previously that it is the end of the road for the all-white kitchen HERE and blond or natural wood is a big part of the reason. Natural wood is neutral but it provides a bit of warmth and texture that makes a space more interesting. This natural wood trend has also taken root in furniture in a big way. The light wood tone mixes well with both light and dark colors fits well with a wide range of styles like modern Scandinavian, eclectic, bohemian, mid-century, or fresh coastal cottage.

Blonde wood is typically made from birch, oak, maple, poplar, or pine. This means that you can find furniture pieces at the low end and the high end of the budget. If your house has all-white walls, blond furniture can provide some contrast while still keeping the space light and airy.
Some of the most popular types of blonde furniture are dining chairs which pair nicely with white tables giving a fresh but textured look. Keeping with the dining theme, sideboards are also very popular in natural wood and can help to tie the whole look together.

Side tables and accent chairs are also popular natural wood pieces and pair nicely with white sofas. Entries are also a great place to start by adding a natural wood bench.
There are lots of affordable options below, but of course, my favorite and what started my obsession with natural wood is the fairly expensive bench with circular supports. Natural wood accessories such as the propagation station and the candlesticks provide a great way to tie in the furniture through your accessories.
So, look around – do you have any of that orangey stained oak? If so, natural wood substitutes would make a great upgrade! Items are arranged from lowest to highest price – I was quite pleasantly surprised by some of the fantastic lower-priced options.
