I previously shared that it is the end of the road for the all-white kitchen HERE and I feel equally strongly about the all-white bathroom. If you have one, don’t worry, there is a way to make an update that can dramatically up the style factor without a complete remodel – add some black tile. Every room needs some black, and lately, I have become obsessed with nearly every image I have saved to my dream home Pinterest board with some tile that is black. Case in point, the bathroom below (and frankly, above) is perfection.
Ok, in fairness, there are a couple of small tweaks I would make. I would probably swap out the mirrors so that they do not touch the ceiling allowing allow a few more of the black tiles to shine through and install undermount sinks because vessel sinks are only ok for powder rooms IMO because cleaning around them is impossible. I do love the shelves built into the wall on the sides because you could hide so many products there within easy reach!
Speaking of powder rooms…check out this beauty! The floating vanity is perfection! I love that the sink is offset but I would go with something a bit larger. And herringbone black tile, yes please!
Here are two more round-mirror, powder room beauties. You know I love a pattern tile if you saw the bathroom addition that we just completed HERE. I also love the matte finish on the stacked tile on the right and I am OBSESSED with that sconce – like I am looking around the house right now asking myself where I could put it.
Here are a couple more patterned black tile beauties. I have loved the pattern on the lefty for years and think that would be a great tile for a bathroom or laundry room as it is used below. I love how the black door and trim accents the tile in the image on the right – how much better is this than if it had been all white?!?!?!
Here are a couple more bathrooms that have a subtle touch with the black tiles on the floor and one shower wall. I am a bit nervous about black floors because I expect they would show every speck but I currently have white marble floors in my bathroom and they always look dirty so cannot imagine that these would be any worse.
In case you are still on the fence, here are a couple more stunners. The patterned tile on the left might be a bit too busy but I think using black tiles on the back wall instead of the blue would have been good to help ground the look. the chevron pattern on the right is enhanced by variations in the tile color. I would use different lights like the brushed gold Edison one above that is so slim and swap the silver faucet and hardware for black because you know I love to mix metals as I shared HERE.
