I have become a crazy plant lady partly as a result of my time working on the outside landscaping, and also thanks to Hilton Carter’s Instagram. P.S. most of his line at Target is on a crazy clearance sale now so check it out if you are looking for faux plants there are some great options.
It is amazing how much life a few plants can inject into a room that you thought was complete. My rule of thumb is that every main room in a house like the family room or living room should have at least one tree and 2-3 smaller plants. Bedrooms look great with trees in dark corners and a plant or two on the nightstand or dressers. Most of my rooms have met their minimum plant requirements but I am still trying to figure out how to add more. Enter the plant stand.

As I began my plant stand research, I was surprised at how many different options there are:
- Plant stands with integrated pots – I liket to select my own pot so only use these if it is a single plant stand.
- Single pedestal plant stands – these double as gaming statue displays in our new office – more coming on Office décor soon.
- Racks, Ladders, and A-frame shelves – a bit too traditional for my space
- Plant stands with multiple platforms – just right for corners or nooks and you can add a variety of plants in a small space

Once you have decided which type of plant stands, there are many, many different options even within that category. I am adding a plant stand with multiple platforms because it allows me to fit lots of plants into a small space. I have a 2’x2’ space right near the entry to the new office that gets great light and I want to add some green to balance with my monster fig tree that sits on the other side of the fireplace. Do not let lack of sunlight hold you back – there are some great faux options that get the job done when real is not an option.
Here are the plant stands with multiple platforms that I was considering — can you guess which one I ordered? Actually, I ordered two with one headed to the office to hold more gaming statues. I am so excited to start picking out the plants and pots for this stand!
