Paint is a great way to make a low-cost, quick change to a room, but wallpaper is another great option. It provides a double bang adding both texture and pattern to an otherwise plain room. I like wallpaper in a powder room, kid’s bathroom, laundry room, or entry because they are rooms where you do not spend much time and therefore the paper will not become overwhelming.
Moody dark prints are in and that was the look that I was going for in my powder room in the poWOWder room post. So, while I wait on my wallpaper, I took another trip down wallpaper lane, and here they are in case you are interested in snagging a fun wallpaper. In case you are wondering, Daydream by Hygge & West is the winner!
If you are worried about living with the wallpaper for the next 20 years, do not worry, my installer assures me the new wallpapers and paste are easily removable and scrubbable. I expect a new coat of paint would be required but gone are the days of having the steam and scrape. Also, my installer strongly recommends against peel and stick unless in limited application like the back of a bookcase because it does not adhere to the wall very well especially if your walls are textured which most are.
