Have a Ball – Fun Outdoor Decor

With Spring around the corner, and having been cooped up for the winter, now is a great time to get outdoors and start working in the yard. I personally love the satisfaction of seeing something I planted grow or looking at the freshly prepared dirt ready for some new additions. Unfortunately, we are still in the middle of construction on Office 2.0 which means that the front yard is not ready for planting yet, so I have found another fun addition – outside balls.

I am not talking about volleyballs, basketballs, soccer balls etc. which are also great for outside time. I am talking about decorative balls that add a sculptural element to the yard. There are some great options and even some fun ones that light up using solar power.

I recently added these balls that light up and are floating in my pol. They would be great for a hot tub and they also come with garden stakes and would look great in the yard. They are solar powered but also come with a charging cable in case you do not get enough light or even wanted to use them indoors. The solar in Southern California has given them a strong charge and bright light even given the overcast days that we have been having recently. You can set the color with a remote and they add a fun energy to the pool that Odin the dog felt compelled to give a suspicious bark. There is no maintenance as they charge automatically and turn on automatically when it gets dark – win!

I am also adding these concrete looking garden balls to the succulent garden that I am planning. I have ordered all three for one area of the garden and then 3 small balls for another area where I am going to use them as an accent between the plants.

As you can see, garden balls go well with any type of garden – cottage, modern, northwest, etc. Next up for me are the smaller cracked balls lights below that I am going to add to my large planters. If you are ambitious, you can also DIY the balls.

Here are some fun garden balls that you may want to consider for your yard. I tried to stick with the more affordable ones but there are lots more in any color that you might want if you do a quick search. In any event, make sure that you get outside and spend some time reading, walking, or even prepping the garden – it will do both the mind and the body good!
