Porta Potty Bathroom Replacement

With demo well underway, it is time to finalize the finishes for the new bathroom which will replace the porta potty. This is my second bathroom design for myself which is good and bad. I really enjoy the back and forth with clients when choosing materials so would love to get your input.

With three full and one half bath already, we really do not need another bathroom. However, our smart real estate agent suggested adding a closet and bath to the new office for resale as it could double as a first floor master. We had so many people looking for a first floor master  when we sold our prior home – generally older buyers who did not want to deal with stairs or for an in-law suite.

The goal is for the bathroom to look like it has always been part of the house which is a soft modern design, but with some updates to make it shine. For background, here is what the rest of the bathroom’s look like in the house.

To keep things consistent, I will be using a similar vanity to the rest of the house and plan to use a stacked white tile on the sides of the shower with the accent tile on the main shower wall and behind the vanity.

Now, on to the fun part of choosing an accent tile, lighting, mirrors and faucets. Let me know which are your favorites in the comments below!

Accent Tile

The accent tile will be used behind the vanity and on the large shower wall which will be directly opposite. As I am looking to do something fairly bold with the accent tile, the other walls of the shower will be a simple white stacked subway tile.

Mirror

The mirrors below all come in multiple finishes and I will likely use a brushed gold finish to best contrast with the accent tile unless it is tile 1 or 5 in which case I will likely go with black. Given, this which shape do you like the best?

Lighting
There are so many great options here – this is probably the one that I am most challenged with though there is a front runner. Can you guess?

Hardware

I am pretty set on using black hardware and this style matches what we have in the rest of the house, but I wonder if black shows water spots which would drive me crazy – anyone have experience here? Biggest decision is deck mount or wall mount?

Well, that’s all folks – let me know which are your favorites in the comments by number. I will likely put together some grouped mockups based on the responses for a final vote!
